Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Okukinosaki Seaside Hotel.

Thanks to your support, our hotel has reached a major milestone this year: our 55th anniversary. To celebrate this memorable year, we are thrilled to announce a very special theatrical performance created in collaboration with our official artist, “Blue Egonaku”!

The production is titled “Seaside Theater (The Sea and Theater)” .

In fact, this name derives from the history of our current restaurant venue, “Pirato,” which was once known as “Theater Restaurant Pirato.”
This project carries on the tradition of “traveling theater (popular theater),” which was once the hotel’s main business, while resonating with Toyooka City’s philosophy of “building a community centered on theater with depth” and evolving it into a contemporary art form.

Our collaboration with Blue Egonaku, which began with the 2020 Toyooka Theater Festival, has now reached a new, deeper level. We are presenting this as an immersive theatrical performance for hotel guests.

Here in Takeno, the birthplace of this project—please enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime theatrical experience with all five senses as part of your stay!

■Story of the Play “Before I Was Born, I Was a Wave”
Leaving her city life behind, Eri visits a seaside hotel for a vacation. The hotel offers guided tours that allow guests to explore the local scenery and learn about the area’s history, but Eri misses her chance to join one when she receives a phone call just as the tour is about to begin.Meanwhile, the tour was hit by an unsettling incident right at the start: a mysterious figure was spotted on the rocky outcrop near the hotel, forcing the organizers to change the itinerary. Sitting on the rocks—which should have been accessible only by swimming—was a woman whose clothes and hair were completely dry, gazing out at the horizon. It seems that in this world, apart from what we see, there are transparent “beings.” Furthermore, a sorcerer appears, summoning all manner of voices, and as the situation takes an unexpected turn, the truth about this hotel—and about ourselves—is revealed.A quiet yet grand seaside tale—involving both the living and the dead—featuring five characters and two sorcerers who manipulate music.
